The leaders in Russia had warned people
to attend the funeral.
But over a thousand people
had gathered near the church
and the cemetery.
When the coffin arrived, people shouted
Alexei Navalny’s name.
– He was the only one I trusted.
I dreamed that he
would become the new leader.
This is a sadness for me
and for Russia, said one person.
Police officers were on the scene.
They made sure that people
did not go in front of the fence
that they set up.
Alexei Navalny’s parents
was at the funeral.
It was also Sweden’s ambassador
in Russia.
But there are data
about that several people
who are opposed to Russia’s leaders
were stopped and arrested by the police.
They were not allowed to go to the funeral.
