The Traffic Department has identified a group of traffic diversions after the total closure of Sphinx Square in the Mohandessin area, and we summarize this closure in the following points:
1- Closure of Sphinx Square in Mohandessin will take 30 days.
2- Closure in the direction leading to Ahmed Orabi Street to connect the May 15th bridge.
3- This is part of the 26th July Alternative Corridor Expansion and Development Project.
4- The Giza General Traffic Directorate made traffic detours to avoid crowding.
5- The transfers included the movement of vehicles coming from Arab League Street and wishing to continue walking in the direction of Ahmed Orabi Street, continue walking on July 26th Street on the surface road of the May 15th Bridge towards the turning hole, located under the May 15th Bridge, then back to July 26th Street to Ahmed Street Arabi.
6- It involved diverting the movement of vehicles coming from Nile Street and wishing to walk on Nile Corniche Street towards Al-Galaa Square, proceeding on July 26 Street on the May 15 Bridge surface road towards the “new” turnaround, located a at the end of 15th May bridge, then turning around and walking back down 26th July, up to Corniche street..
7- The Giza General Administration of Traffic appointed the necessary services and coordinated with the executive companies to implement the technical assistance.
8- Operating rooms to periodically monitor the circulation of cars until the completion of these works.
