8.8 million documents, 99 candidates and nearly a million voters… the logistical challenge of inserting in Isère

The enveloping of the electoral propaganda for the legislative elections took place this Saturday, June 4 at the Alpexpo in Grenoble. An operation that requires significant logistics in Isère, where nearly 900,000 voters are called to vote on Sunday June 12.

The legislative elections are approaching. And a week before the first ballot, it’s time to put electoral propaganda in envelopes. This Saturday, June 4, nearly 900 public officials and volunteer citizens as well as 60 people recruited from Pôle Emploi were mobilized at the Alpexpo in Grenoble for this impressive logistical operation.

Before each vote, the voters are recipients of the declarations of the candidates. This year, in Isère, 893,962 voters will receive electoral propaganda before the first round scheduled for Sunday June 12.

With 99 candidates in the ten constituencies in the department, the enveloping required significant coordination from all the little hands present this Saturday.

“Once the envelope is finished, I wipe it with a sponge to close it completely. Then we pile them up and put them in bins”says a young volunteer, who delivers her little methods to go as quickly as possible.

All this logistics is framed: “It is the candidates who print. Then we check the documents they provide us since there is still a charter. This allows us to check that everything is in order and that we are on a single-sided back and that there is no spelling error on the names of the candidates”explains Eléonore Lacroix, general secretary of the Isère prefecture.
