“The aviation crisis makes it necessary to tackle changes, the necessity of which was already apparent before the crisis,” said a Lufthansa Technik AG spokesman when asked about TAG24.

A total of 780 of the 1,350 jobs in the maintenance area are directly threatened, explained ver.di secretary Frank Hartstein.
“While the Lufthansa Group is receiving billions in government support during the pandemic to save the company and secure jobs, the subsidiary is now to be closed and downsized on a large scale,” criticized Hartstein and called for the decision to be changed.
