Artificial intelligence (AI) is often ridiculed as a buzzword in logistics and supply chain management. Especially when conventional optimization software, which has been in use in logistics for many years, is suddenly presented as AI.

But what does AI actually look like that really deserves the name? How great is the potential in logistics and which specific problems can the technology solve today in the logistics and supply chain environment?
