The Alba Berlin women’s basketball team won the fifth game in the eighth Bundesliga game. On Sunday, the Berliners defeated Herner TC with 77:66 (19:25, 11:13, 28:17, 19:11). It was the third consecutive success for the promoted women. 1,217 fans attended the second home game since moving to the Sömmeringhalle.
Alba’s women deserved the victory above all thanks to an excellent second half. After a 30:38 break, coach Cristo Cabrera’s team lit the fire. Already after the third quarter they were leading by only three points (58:55). The Bundesliga men’s team also followed up on their home victory from the stands.
After the victory, the Berliners remain fifth for the time being, but – with one game less than the third and fourth classified – aim for the top positions as promoted women. The team continues next Saturday. Then at 20 he will be a guest at the back of the table in Marburg.
