The October Yearling Sale organized by the agency <a href="http://www.world-today-news.com/mixed-sale-of-thoroughbreds-in-deauville-261-horses-changed-hands-for-an-average-price-of-e-11602/" title="Mixed sale of thoroughbreds in Deauville: 261 horses changed hands for an average price of € 11,602″>Arqana begins this Tuesday, October 22 in Deauville (Calvados) and continues until Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Second major event dedicated to young thoroughbreds and a true showcase of French breeding, this October Yearling Sale reveals high-level performers every year like Metropolitan, winner of the Poule d’Essai des Foals (Gr.1) and second in the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-Le-Buffard Jacques le Marois (Gr.1). From this same sale, Bright Picture, Borna, Almara, Jayarebe, Exxtra, Wootton Verni, Royalty Interest, Dare to Dream and Nadette, have established themselves at Group level this season.
Products from confirmed stallions
Over five days, 775 subjects will be presented in the ring ofElie de Brignac establishment. The catalog brings together the products of confirmed stallions such as Camelot, Churchill, Dark Angel, Frankel, Galiway, Havana Grey, Invincible Spirit, Kingman, Mehmas, New Bay, Night Of Thunder, No Nay Never, Sea The Stars, Siyouni, Soldier Hollow, Starspangledbanner, Too Darn Hot, Wootton Bassett and Zarak.
Buyers will also have the opportunity to purchase colts and fillies from the first production of Japan, Palace Pier, Space Blues, St Mark’s Basilica, Victor Ludorum as well as the second production of Hello Youmzain, Kameko, Mohaather, Persian King, Romanised, Pinatubo, Sergei Prokofiev, Sottsass and even Wooded.
The first part of the catalog, which brings together 208 colts and fillies, will kick off the sale. Testifying to the quality of the selection, nearly 40% of the subjects presented are brothers/sisters of black-type horses, of which 40 are brothers/sisters of Group winners. Furthermore, nearly 30% of the foals and fillies in this first part are from black-type mares.

From a good family
Among the very well-bred subjects to discover in the catalogue, we find in particular lot 6, first produced by St Mark’s Basilica from the Group 1 winner Tiger Tanaka; lot 13, a son of Kingman and the black-type Via Pisa, from the very close family of three-time Japanese Group 1 winner Admire Mars; lot 22, a son of Victor Ludorum and Listed winner Alakhana, brother of this season’s Group winner Jayarebe; but also lot 23, a brother by Romanized to the winner of the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Gr.1) 2024 Metropolitan; lot 37, a son of Night Of Thunder out of a full sister to Group winner Blue de Vega, from the family of Group 1 winners Borgia and Boreal; or lot 38, a sister by Camelot to the Listed winner Gala Réal, granddaughter of the double winner of Groupe Aigue Marine to name but a few.
Please note that all colts and fillies presented at this October Yearling Sale will be eligible for the four Arqana Series races reserved for two-year-olds in 2025.
