Another life is due to the COVID-19 virus, which has pushed the death toll to 76. Of the 398 tests administered in the past 24 hours, 68 were positive. The number of active cases stands at 818 today.
Currently 120 people are being cared for in the hospitals and there are 15 patients in the Intensive Care Unit. In addition, 60 people have been declared cured in the past 24 hours, 723 civilians are in isolation and 89 in quarantine.
This weekend there will be total lockdown in Suriname and it will last until Monday 7 September at 5 a.m. This means that no one is allowed on the street. An exception has been made for persons belonging to the essential services.
