PHOENIX (AP) — Devin Booker scored 29 points, Bismack Biyombo added 17 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks and the Phoenix Suns snapped a three-game skid with a 125-105 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
It was a much-needed win for the Suns, who had lost six of seven before the game and dropped to fifth in the Western Conference playoff race. The Sixers have lost three of their last four meetings.
The game was tight for most of the first three quarters, but the Suns used a 26-11 run to turn a tight game into a 15-point lead early in the quarter. Phoenix got good minutes from almost all of its reserves, especially Terrence Ross and TJ Warren.
Warren finished with 16 points, while Ross added 15. Booker made 9 of 18 shots from the field and all nine of his free throws.
The Suns won despite a great night from Tyrese Maxey, who finished with 37 points for the Sixers and made 14 of 19 shots, including 7 of 11 3-pointers. Joel Embiid added 28 points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams had significant casualties. The Suns were without Deandre Ayton (hip) and Kevin Durant (ankle), while the 76ers were without James Harden (Achilles).
The Suns led 58-53 at halftime. Maxey led all scorers with 21 points before the break, while Booker had 18 for the Suns.
