So that children can splash around for free after the difficult time in the pandemic during this summer vacation, the Senate is providing the Berlin baths with around 760,000 euros. The Senate decided on Tuesday on presentation of the Berlin Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD), as the Senate Chancellery announced. With the money, children up to and including twelve years of age should be given a free visit to the outdoor pools of the Berlin baths during the summer holidays. Families were extremely burdened by the pandemic restrictions, it said. The offer is intended as a thank you for the families.
According to the Berliner Bäderbetriebe, the funds provided are sufficient to enable all children to enter free of charge – provided they can get hold of an entrance ticket. Because even during the holidays there are still time slot cards, said a spokeswoman. The capacity should be increased again this week. The spokeswoman did not give an exact number. In addition to the general contingents, the pool operators want to provide an extra contingent for children during the holidays.
