According to the social authorities, 76 new corona cases were registered in Hamburg on Wednesday. That is 114 new infections less than a week ago, but 37 more than on Tuesday.
According to the social welfare authority, a total of 75,935 people in the Hanseatic city have tested positive for the corona virus since the pandemic began. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 71,100 people in Hamburg can now be considered recovered. The numbers are often lower after public holidays, as fewer people are being tested and most doctor’s offices are closed.

The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days has fallen significantly within one day – from 37.3 on Tuesday to 31.3. A week ago the value was 44.2.
129 corona patients in Hamburg’s hospitals
According to the social welfare authority, 129 corona patients are treated in Hamburg’s hospitals, 62 of them are cared for in intensive care units. According to the RKI, 1,545 people have died in connection with Covid 19 in the Hanseatic city since the beginning of the pandemic.
