Maria Papamichail, 75 years old, former resident of Mosfilotis, died in a fatal road collision that happened yesterday afternoon in the province of Larnaca.
According to a statement from the Communication Department of the Police Headquarters “the road collision occurred around 7 pm on Monday, October 2, when a car driven by a 58-year-old man on the old Kornos – Kofinos road, under circumstances that are being investigated, at some point on the road, collided with car driven by a 32-year-old woman, with a 75-year-old co-driver and a passenger in the back seats in a child seat, a 2.5-year-old girl.”
The collision “injured the occupants of both vehicles, with 75-year-old Maria Papamichael being trapped in the wreckage of the vehicle and being freed after the intervention of EMAK members”.
Afterwards, “the 58-year-old and the 75-year-old were transferred to the Larnaca General Hospital, while the 31-year-old and the minor girl were transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital.”
“Due to the critical state of the 75-year-old’s health, she was transported to the Nicosia General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after midnight,” it is reported.
The Larnaca Traffic Police continues the examinations.
