After Sunday’s game, the models with attractive figures, who wore T-shirts and held signs of a sex toy seller, made the headlines.
FC Seoul will have to put its hand in the pocket. The South Korean capital’s soccer club was ordered to pay a record fine of 100 million won (74,000 euros) on Thursday (May 21) for filling its empty stands with sex dolls. The country’s football league justifies this sanction by considering that the club has “deeply humiliated her female fans”.

FC Seoul is under fire from critics for having deployed, on Sunday, May 17, during a match against Gwangju FC, dozens of silicone mannequins to partially replace the supporters in empty stands because of the coronavirus. The models with seductive silhouettes, who wore T-shirts and held signs of a sex toy seller, made headlines all over the world.
After studying the file, the K-League accepted the argument put forward by FC Seoul that it did not know it was sex toys. The League however stressed that it “could easily have recognized their use by showing common sense and experience”.
“The controversy surrounding this incident (…) deeply humiliated and hurt female fans [et] undermined the integrity of the league “, said the K-League in a statement. FC Seoul, who accepted the decision, apologized and promised that the events would not happen again. It is the heaviest fine imposed by the K-League in thirty-eight years of existence.
