At the time of the crash, Camille, Catherine Berthet’s daughter, was going to Kenya to begin a humanitarian mission for the American NGO One Acre Fund. She had just spent two months with her mother, near Paris, after five years in the French NGO ACTED for which she had worked in particular in South Sudan.
“It’s been three years (since she died) and… I never go to sleep before 4 or 5 in the morning. I still have panic attacks. There are things I don’t do anymore. There are movies I can’t watch anymore, music I can’t listen to anymore“, she confided.
“I would like the US Department of Justice to be responsible enough to make sure that corporations don’t get away with murder, that their top executives pay, that there’s criminal action against them, that they spend years in prison“said Paul Njoroge, who came from Toronto. During the crash in Ethiopia, he lost his 33-year-old wife, his children aged 6, 4 and 9 months, and his 61-year-old mother-in-law.
