The Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr Ranaou Abaché proceeded in the premises of the General Reference Hospital, to the closure of the campaign for the implantation of hip and knee joint prostheses, organized on March 25 to April 05, 2021 by said Hospital with the support of the Indian TechBone team. The team of Indian doctors also made a set of equipment available to the technical platform of the General Reference Hospital.
Speaking on this occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr Ranaou Abaché thanked Professor Hasbin and his team for this technical support that they have provided to the General Reference Hospital in view of to relieve the Nigerien populations suffering from osteoarthritis. This campaign, the 14th of its kind, has a double if not a triple advantage because these 14 campaigns have not only enabled the State to save more than 4 billion FCFA but also and above all for Nigerien surgeons to strengthen their capacities. . Speaking about this team of Professor Hasbin, the secretary general of the Ministry of Public Health indicated that it is in its 5th campaign in Niger. He asked the officials of the General Reference Hospital to continue to organize regularly with their partners this kind of initiative to alleviate the suffering of Nigerien patients. The 80% of patients who have undergone these procedures come from within the country, said Dr Ranaou Abaché. “The next campaign will be supported by our Nigerien surgeons under the supervision of Professor Hasbin,” he announced. It is a source of pride for us to see our specialists providing this high technology for fitting prostheses which are very complex and which give immediate mobility to the patient, ”said the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Health. In addition to this campaign, he said, Professor Hasbin also supported and 100% the training of some Nigerien specialists in India.
“I began to suffer from Osteoarthritis since the 1990s, I have always taken tranquilizers to relieve my suffering, but last Wednesday March 31 I underwent an operation after two years of waiting because of the coronavirus pandemic. Alhamdou lillah I am better now because, I manage to stand up, I begin to recover and over time I will recover, recover my health and go about my business ”, testified Mr. Tambari Goga Alhousseini, nurse at the retirement.
“I have sickle cell disease. When the pain persisted in my hip I had been sitting at home for quite a while, all my activities were stopped because of this disease. But by the grace of God and with this initiative of the joint team of Nigerian and Indian surgeons I underwent the operation last Friday, April 02. I have been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time and today I manage to get up and even take a few steps and I thank the State of Niger and the Indian TechBone team who have given me back a taste for life ”, Mr. Alio Issaka also testified. This beneficiary has also invited all those who find themselves in this same situation to come and do the consultations and submit their file in order to benefit from this charity.
