LONGUEUIL | A motorcyclist died on Route 116 in Longueuil on Saturday after hitting the central wall of the expressway. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. eastbound.
The victim is a 72-year-old man, said the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL).
“The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in Montreal. Unfortunately, he passed away, ”mentioned the SPAL.
Experts in accident reconstruction as well as investigators were dispatched to the scene to shed light on the circumstances of this tragic event.
After the accident, two out of three lanes of Route 116 East, between Édouard and Cousineau boulevards, were closed to traffic for an indefinite period.
