The UK reports 27,989 new cases of COVID-19, government figures show today. This is the largest number since January 25, and with it the share of cases between June 25 and July 1 increased by nearly 72 percent compared to the previous week, Reuters reported.
There were also 22 new casualties, which means that the death rate has risen by just under 11 percent in the last seven days.
As of June 30, 44.9 million people were vaccinated with the first dose against coronavirus in the UK, and 33 million with the second.
