71-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Truck in Munich: Police Investigation Underway

Police investigations are underway after a fatal traffic accident in Munich. An eyewitness immediately called the emergency services.

Munich – “The first call already foreshadowed a terrible outcome to the operation,” reports the Munich fire department. Rescuers attended a serious traffic accident on Monday afternoon (December 18). Laim been called.

The caller reported that a person had been run over by a truck shortly before 2 p.m. Fire and rescue services were immediately ordered to Willibaldplatz. As already feared, a dramatic picture emerged on site. A first aider was in the process of resuscitating the accident victim. The emergency services who arrived first then took over the resuscitation.

“Unfortunately, the injuries were so severe that the woman died at the scene of the accident,” the fire department says in its follow-up report. According to the press release, the accident victim is a woman aged 71. During the rescue work on Monday afternoon, the affected area around Willibaldplatz was cordoned off over a large area.

The man who was behind the wheel of the truck involved was initially looked after by emergency services. Later, specially trained crisis service employees took care of him. The police now want to investigate how the fatal accident happened.
