7,000 lightning strikes – 2,000 without electricity:
The violent building storm with lightning and thunder has made almost 2,000 subscribers to the company Elvia (formerly Hafslund) without electricity at 15.30 today.
This means that many thousands of people are without electricity.

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has registered 7,000 lightning strikes in the space of an hour.
The lightning strikes have affected electricity customers in the east and south of Eastern Norway from Trysil municipality to Indre Østfold.
The hardest hit is Frogn municipality in the Follo region with 1,124 reports of power outages. Nes municipality in Romerike is also severely affected with 284 power outages, shows the power outage map for Elvia, which has all available crews out.
The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow warning for lightning and torrential rain in Østafjell on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3 pm, the easternmost parts of Eastern Norway have already been hit.
– It has hit several places in Eastern Norway, especially the easternmost part with Østfold, Akershus and southern parts of Hedmark, says meteorologist Trond Lien to Dagbladet at 15.
– There is a lot of lightning, he says.
The map of the Meteorological Institute shows that thousands of lightning strikes have already been registered. On Twitter, they refer to it as a «violent thunderstorm».
– The forecast applies from now until the evening, so we expect it to decrease during the night, Lien says.
He says that how bad the weather is depends on where you are.
– It varies a lot from place to place, in some places it may already be over, says Lien.
The storm creates problems in several places. Among other things, a fuse box in a building in Sørum has caught fire. The police believe that the reason is that lightning has struck the building, the police write on Twitter.
On the E6 towards Hamar by Espa in the Inland, there has also been a traffic accident, where a car has run off the road. The driver has explained to the police that the reason for the descent was aquaplaning.
