700 tons of cargo to the country are without exit from Miami

The National Chamber of Commerce (CNC) reported that 700 tons of merchandise remain stagnant in Miami and cannot reach the country because the only Bolivian Air Transport (TAB) aircraft has been under maintenance since July 10.

TAB, through notes, informed the companies that since July 10, their M-10 30F aircraft with registration CP-2791 entered the “C” – Check maintenance service for 50 days.

According to the CNC, by becoming the only alternative that provide this type of services, it limits importing companies and generates negative effects on the dynamics of foreign trade due to its monopolistic exercise in the Bolivian market.

“Since the cargo plane was out of service, approximately 700 tons of cargo have accumulated in Miami, for an approximate value of six million dollars, which cannot reach the country. This situation is complicated by the refusal by the Bolivian authorities to authorize charter flights with cargo that could decongest the operational flow, a situation that puts at risk the fulfillment of contracts and the attention of the health emergency ”. noted the CNC.

The Chamber of Commerce believes that in the face of the problems that have arisen, it would be important to promote the entry of other companies that provide similar services, but under much more efficient conditions.
