More than 700 graduates threw their student hats at the official graduation ceremony of Vipusk 2024 at the Burgas State University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”. The event took place in the “Boicho Branzov” sports hall in the presence of relatives and friends of the graduates.
Students from all faculties and colleges have completed their education, except for the Faculty of Medicine, whose first graduating class will graduate in the next calendar year.
The hosts of the event were Prof. Dr. Sevdalina Turmanova, deputy. rector of academic activities at the university and the famous artist Veselin Plachkov, who has been part of the university for a while.
Special guests were Prof. Ph.D. Maria Neykova, Regional Governor of Burgas Region, Mihail Nenov, Deputy Mayor for Education, Health Care, Social Activities and Youth Policies, Petya Petrova, Head of RUO, Dr. Georgi Pazderov, Director of RZI, Angel Stoykov, Chairman of the National representation of the student councils, associate professor Dr. Nikolay Ralev, rector from the past term.
“Today is both a day of great joy and great hope for all of us. We, your teachers, are happy that we have prepared a new community of young people, charged with energy and eagerness to work, to enter the practical spheres of Bulgarian economic, social and cultural life. We are full of hope that you are prepared for all the challenges you will encounter on the way to your realization”, were the words of Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov, MD, rector of the university in his address to the graduates. He addressed the relatives of the graduates with gratitude for entrusting their children to the university he heads. The graduates of the Class of 2024 received their diplomas from him personally.
The graduates were personally greeted by some of the special guests at the event.
The festive hall turned out to be cramped to gather all the relatives and friends of the graduating students.
