70-Year-Old Zoltán Csorba Shines as a Player for Helvécia Team in the 3rd Hungarian League

Zoltán Csorba is a player of the Helvécia team in the northern group of the 3rd Hungarian league and, despite his age, regularly plays in matches.

The 70-year-old Hungarian footballer continues to amaze fans. Although he is already 70 years old, he played again in the match against Ágasegyháza on Sunday, when he ran onto the field as a substitute player in the 84th minute. In the current season, he hit in six rounds already in the fourth game.

“I try not to take the place of younger people. I usually play in the middle of the field, but sometimes I dare to go into an attacking formation. Of course, I am no longer expected to score goals. I’m lucky because I don’t have to take any medicine and my blood pressure is fine too.

I have been playing sports since I was six years old. At first I was involved in boxing for 18 years and then football. The love for this sport continues to this day. Sometimes my left knee hurts, but when I play I feel better,” says Zoltán Csorba, who takes part in training sessions every Thursday and plays football with his friends on Fridays.

His son also plays with the inspirational pensioner in the Hungarian team. Helvécia is currently in the 9th position in the local league table. She started the season with three losses, but then followed with three wins.

“I no longer decide on the results of matches and I am not even a member of the starting line-up. I can handle this season and if I manage to play even longer, I will only be happy.” said the 70-year-old midfielder, whose wife also plays sports and takes individual aerobics classes.
