After the nine-in-one general election, the Kuomintang think tank “National Policy Research Foundation” conducted a “Current Affairs Survey and Political Party Image” survey from December 9 to 11 through computer-assisted telephone interviews. Ke Zhien, executive director of the think tank, pointed out that 70% of people are dissatisfied with the government’s inability to adjust prices, and nearly 50% of people think Premier Su Zhenchang should step down; at the same time, the support of the KMT exceeded the DPP for the first time, with 21.9% in favor of the KMT and 20.7% in favor of the DPP, while 6.9% support the Taiwan People’s Party .

The age cross-analysis shows that the 40-49 age group is the most dissatisfied with the government’s ability to solve prices, and the dissatisfaction reaches 83%. Lin Zujia, the economic group coordinator of the Kuomintang think tank, said that rising prices will consume people’s purchasing power in the short term, which is not good for all wage earners; rising house prices will benefit the wealthy who have more homes and will affect the distribution of income and property in the long run. Ke Zhien pointed out that although the number of Kuomintang members in county and city councilors has not increased significantly, 60 of them are non-party members, but their tendencies in political parties are more inclined to the Kuomintang. The Kuomintang in this nine-to-one local election is excellent in the Democratic Progressive Party.
The support of the Kuomintang for the first time exceeds the DPP
In terms of support for the party, Ke Zhien pointed out that the poll results show that this is the first time in recent years that the KMT has surpassed the DPP in terms of support, with 21.9% in favor of the KMT, the 20.7% support the DPP and 6.9% support the Taiwan People’s Party.
Finally, in the evaluation of political party preference (0 means I don’t like it very much, 10 means I like it very much), the public gave the DPP 4.75 points, the Kuomintang 4.80 points and the People’s Party 3.93 points. a small margin.
Although the KMT is ahead of the DPP, Ke Zhien still hopes to continue to improve, and he bluntly said that both the blue and green parties should be cautious and fearful, because the total score is 10 points and the ratings of the two parties in the hearts of the people did not exceed 5 points. The interview duration for this survey is three days from December 9-11, 2022. Computer-assisted telephone interviews were used to conduct the surveys. A total of 1,072 valid samples were completed. Below the 95% confidence level, the sampling error is plus or minus 3%.
