When it comes to CPU choice among Steam users, Intel Core outperforms its AMD Ryzen competitors. The Blues, in fact, command over 70% of the market.
Steam hardware and software overview for October 2022 shows that Intel processors are currently used in 70.99% of all PCs using Steam, an increase of 2.26% from the previous month. Meanwhile, AMD processors only account for 28.99%, with the red team numbers down from the peak in July this year.
Considering that Intel has long boasted the best gaming processor, first with the Core i5 12600K and now with the 13600K, it is not difficult to see how the blue team is winning the hearts of gamers. These performance benefits are even more tempting as the cost of the LGA1700 platform is much lower than AM5, the socket that powers AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series.
Indeed, production of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 has slowed due to a lack of interest in the series, but AMD can still bounce back with 3D V-Cache chips rumored to arrive later this year.
