7 years in prison for the heads of the res

In the case of ice trafficking between Hawaii and Tahiti, the court followed the prosecutor’s submissions. The two “heads” were sentenced to 7 years in prison.

The trial for ice trafficking between Tahiti and Hawaii ended on Thursday. Sentences between 2 months suspended and 7 years in prison for the 14 people tried were pronounced.

The prosecutor’s requisitions for the two “bosses” of the case were followed.

-Smidt (head of the network) sentenced to 7 years in prison and continued detention

– Tavaearii: 7 years in prison and continued detention

-Tahito: 18 months in prison with 12 months suspended

-Small: 3 years in prison with 2 years suspended sentence

-Alves: 3 years in prison and continued in prison

-Orbeck: 3 years in prison with 1 year suspended sentence and warrant of committal

-Baronio: 4 years in prison with 6 months suspended

-Largeteau: 2 years in prison with 1 year suspended

-Lenoir: 5 years in prison and warrant of committal

-Terorotua: 4 years in prison, revocation of the suspended sentence and warrant of committal

-Pansi: 5 years in prison and continued detention

etc…

These people were therefore sentenced for events that took place between 2017 and 2019. They were suspected to varying degrees of having imported and sold methamphetamine from Hawaii. Some of the protagonists were also suspected of having attempted to produce drugs locally.

Those most severely implicated risked up to ten years in prison and huge customs fines.
