7 types of fruit that can get rid of annoying flatulence

Many of us experience flatulence from time to time, which is not a worrying condition, but causes an unpleasant feeling.

If you can no longer tolerate unusual flatulence, you can eat one of the seven fruits recommended by the Florida gastroenterologist Joseph Salhab, to reduce the pressure on the abdomen.

Salhab recommends eating blueberries, dates, figs, kiwi, guava, papaya, and pineapple to reduce the belly.

He pointed to a study conducted in 2022 that found that vitamin C increases levels of Bifidobacterium bacteria, which help restore the natural balance of intestinal bacteria, reduce bouts of diarrhea, protect against unwanted bacteria, helps digest food, and absorbs vitamins and nutrients. Gut bacteria are known to help digest fibre, absorb nutrients and boost immunity.

“One way to improve gut health is to eat more high-fiber foods with vitamin C. This has been shown to increase good gut bacteria for optimal digestive health,” explains Salhab.

It is recommended that people with irritable bowel syndrome slowly test their tolerance of these seven foods because fructose found in fruit can trigger symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.
