7 Star Candidates in the Round of 16 of Euro 2020

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

The best players from the 16 teams that qualified for the Round of 16 Euro 2020 (Euro 2021) will show off again starting Saturday (26/6) evening WIB.

They will try to do everything in their power to bring their respective teams to go further in this four-year tournament. Of the many names, the actions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe are interesting to wait for.

Ronaldo has proven his prowess in the group stage by becoming Portugal’s main goal machine. Meanwhile, Mbappe still has not performed as expected in the group stage.

Here are seven players who are predicted to shine in the Round of 16 of Euro 2020:

1. Dejan Kulusevski (Sweden)

Kulusevski missed the first two games due to injury. The Juventus player only appeared when Sweden beat Poland 3-2 in the last match of Group D.

Kulusevski just entered early in the second half to replace Robin Quaison. But his presence is able to raise the level of Blagult’s game.

Kulusevski set up Forsberg’s second and Viktor Claesson’s winner in second-half injury time.

Kulusevski is likely to be a starter against Ukraine. With his speed and skill, Kulusevski will be very dangerous for the Ukrainian defense.

2. Nicolo Barella (Italy)

Barella is one of three important figures who make the Italian midfield so solid. Barella’s aggressive and unyielding style of play combined with Jorginho’s composure and Manuel Locatelli’s ingenuity.

Barella is a typical hard-working midfielder. He is diligent up and down to help the attack and defense of Gli Azzurri.

Barella is not the typical prolific goal-scoring midfielder. However, he is quite good at providing assists and that is evidenced by the nick of 13 assists with Inter Milan last season.

3. Pablo Sarabia (Spain)

Sarabia had become a forgotten figure in the Spanish national team. In the first two games, the Paris Saint-Germain player only entered as a substitute.

Spain’s poor performance in the first two games made coach Luis Enrique give Sarabia the opportunity to start. The decision was not wrong because Sarabia appeared creative by scoring one goal and providing one assist in Spain’s 5-0 win over Slovakia.

A tougher challenge will now be faced by Sarabia against Croatia. The former Sevilla player is expected to supply mature passes to Alvaro Morata and Gerard Moreno from the right sector of La Furia Roja’s attack.
