It was investigated that 7 out of 10 Koreans plan to travel abroad once a vaccine for the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) is developed.
According to the results of a survey released by Incheon International Airport Corporation on the 15th, 70.2% of Koreans and 82.0% of foreigners replied that they are planning to leave when asked whether they plan to travel abroad after the development of the Corona 19 vaccine.
As for the travel period, 33.4% of Koreans and 35.3% of foreigners answered that’within 3-6 months after vaccine development’ was the highest.
When it comes to travel destinations, Koreans preferred Europe (42.2%) and foreigners preferred Asia (57.2%).
The reasons for planning overseas travel were the highest for tourism purposes with more than 90% (domestic 90.6%, foreigners 95.7%), followed by work (domestic 8.8%, foreigners 3.4%), education (domestic 0.6%, foreigners 0.9%). .
The most frequent travel period was within 7 days to 1 month (domestic 48.4%, foreigners 49.2%) and 4-6 days (domestic 41.9%, foreigners 39.6%).
After the development of the Corona 19 vaccine, the response to vaccination was high at over 70% (70.9% for Koreans and 75.3% for foreigners).
As for the vaccination reason, 89.1% of Koreans answered’to travel abroad’.
On the other hand, about 50% of respondents (domestic 53.1%, foreigners 45.2%) cited’corona 19 infection concern’ as the reason for not planning overseas travel even after vaccine development.
“As the expected demand for overseas travel by domestic and foreigners has been high due to the development of vaccines,” said Lim Nam-soo, president of the Corporation, that we plan to focus on facility management and passenger service checks to respond to the recovery period of air demand in the future.
The survey was conducted from October 30 to November 20, targeting 1,000 Koreans and 600 foreigners including China, Japan and Vietnam.
