7 Mountains Music Night Festival 2024: Everything You Need to Know

After a five-year break, the “7 Mountains Music Night” (7mmn) festival will be back in 2024 “for real”, so to speak. As in the past, it takes place in restaurants and bars in Bad Honnef and Königswinter.

The 12th edition will take place on Saturday, June 8th. It will take another one or two months for the exact program, “but we are on the right track,” said organizer Helge Kirscht, announcing the return of “7mmn”.

Since 2011, “7mmn” has also included restaurants in Königswinter

The special thing about the festival is that visitors can go to all concerts with just one ticket. 7mmn took place for the first time in 2009, at ten locations only in Bad Honnef. Königswinter has been on board since 2011.

Until 2019, a total of between 2,000 and 2,500 visitors came each time, recalled Helge Kirscht. The festival has established itself in the scene nationwide. But then the lockdown came in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. Kirscht spontaneously organized an “online 7mmn” in an emergency, so to speak.

Helge Kirscht doesn’t have to have a streaming festival like 2020 again

The bands played in (mostly empty) bars and streamed their respective concerts. This campaign was also a success. There were 10,000 clicks worldwide, says Helge Kirscht. “It was quite an experience, but I don’t need to have it again.”

As a co-organizer for the restart in 2024, he has Nicolas Büsch, head of the Bad Honnef event partner Quint.Events, at his side. “We’re doing this together now,” says Kirscht.

“Culture is always good for a city,” said the entrepreneur, who says he has been active in the event industry for 13 years. “I’m a fan of projects that come from the heart.”

They will stick to the “tried and tested principle”: On June 8th, from 8 p.m. to midnight, various bands will play in 16 to 18 pubs and restaurants in Königswinter. The organizers are using special shuttle buses between Königswinter and Bad Honnef, in which musicians will also play again.

The spectrum of music ranges from folk to rock and jazz

New venues include Charly’s Bar at the International University and Lilo in the former indoor swimming pool on the Rhine promenade, which, according to Kirscht, has established itself as a cultural center.

Musically, the spectrum will range from rock to jazz and electro to folk and flamenco. There are many local bands there, but possibly also a group from the United States.

The sponsors are the energy supplier Bad Honnef AG, Tourismus Siebengebirge GmbH, the Gaffel brewery and, as a “premium supporter” (Kirscht), the city of Bad Honnef. With the restart, tickets cost 15 euros (previously seven euros). Helge Kirscht emphasized that everything is included in one ticket, in addition to the 16 to 18 concerts and the shuttle bus rides.

He also wants to increase the fee for the musicians from 150 to 250 euros per person. That’s only fair. There will probably be advance ticket sales again, although they have not been so well received in recent years. Helge Kirscht: “Most visitors make spontaneous decisions in the evening.”
