7 Dead in Odessa Drone Attack: Russian Drones Hit Residential Building, Increasing Death Toll

The death toll as a result of a drone hitting a residential building in Odessa has increased to seven people.

Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko on the evening of March 2 reportedthat rescuers pulled out the body of a woman and a three-month-old child from under the rubble. Thus, two children were among the dead – the death of a three-year-old boy was previously reported.

The attack of Russian drones in Odessa, which occurred on the night of March 2, commented President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. He called it “terror, the purpose of which is solely to destroy lives, solely to intimidate people.”

He also said that the deceased child was four months old.

At the Odessa City Hall toldthat as a result of a drone hitting a residential building, 18 apartments were destroyed and seven more were damaged.

March 3 was declared a day of mourning in the Odessa region, reported Head of the regional administration Oleg Kiper.

Russian troops attacked Ukraine with drones on the night of March 2. The Ukrainian Air Force said it destroyed 14 out of 17 drones within the Odessa, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Sumy, and Dnepropetrovsk regions. In the Odessa region there were shot down seven drones out of eight.
