Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Most people struggle with occasional daytime sleepiness, but if this problem persists and starts to get in the way of daily life, then you need to address it. Here are seven reasons to feel tired Every day.
Many factors can cause persistent fatigue, from lack of sleep to underlying health problems, but in most cases, it can be corrected with some lifestyle changes.
The first step to dealing with excessive fatigue is understanding why you are experiencing it as this helps to mark the difference between normal sleepiness and feeling tired all the time.
Here are seven causes of feeling tired every day.
1. Skipping meals or eating too much
If you have a tendency to skip meals, then this could be the reason you are very tired.
As reported Mirror UKRavina Bhanot, founder of Zonas Fertility, says long mealtimes may mean you’re not getting the right number of calories to keep your energy levels high. It can also cause your blood sugar to drop.
While skipping meals is bad for your energy levels, overeating can also be bad.
The festive season can be a temptation to indulge in foods with high sugar and carbohydrate foods. Bhanot then warns that it “can lead to a state of high energy followed by fatigue quickly afterwards.”
2. Vitamin deficiency
Vitamin deficiency can also be the cause of feeling tired every day. these may include low levels of vitamin D, vitamin B-12, iron, magnesium, or potassium.
Only routine blood tests can help you identify a deficiency.
Once identified, the doctor may recommend taking supplements or suggest increasing the intake of certain vitamin-rich foods to naturally correct deficiencies.
3. Lack of sleep
Most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night. If you tend to stay up late, then you are at risk for sleep deprivation.
So start practicing better sleep habits to boost your energy starting with going to bed earlier.
Bhanot suggests trying to go to bed at the same time every day.
“Take time to relax to reduce stress that can contribute to your fatigue,” she says.
Avoid activities such as exercise and watching TV before bed.
4. Temperature is too hot or cold
Disturbed sleep at night because it’s too hot or too cold can leave you feeling less refreshed in the morning.
5. Overweight
The more weight you carry, the harder your body will work to complete daily tasks like climbing stairs or cleaning, making you tired more easily.
Start with light exercise and work up to a more intense routine to help you lose weight.
6. Stress
Chronic stress can cause headaches, muscle tension, stomach problems, and fatigue. When you are stressed, it causes an increase in cortisol and adrenaline which reduces your body’s energy reserves and causes you to feel tired every day.
7. Depression
When you feel stressed, lack of energy and fatigue can follow. The best step if you are depressed is to consult a professional.
