Bandung – Nio Juanda Yasin alias Boris was given a strict sentence by the panel of judges. The man who had played in the soap opera ‘Preman Pensiun’ was proven guilty of distributing methamphetamine and was sentenced to 7 years and six months in prison.
The verdict against Boris was read by a panel of judges of the Bale Bandung District Court (PN) on January 18, 2022. In its decision, the panel of judges headed by Adrianus Agung Putrantono and two members found Boris guilty as per Article 114 paragraph (1) Jo Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on narcotics and Law No. 8 of 1981 on law criminal events.
“The judge sentenced the defendant to imprisonment for seven years and six months,” said the judge as quoted by detikJabar on Monday (28/3/2022).
The judge also gave another severe sentence to Boris. In addition to imprisonment, Boris was also fined Rp 1 billion. As for if the fine is not paid, it is replaced by a prison sentence of one month.
The sentence of 7.5 years in prison is heavier than the demands of the public prosecutor. As for the prosecutor’s demands, Boris is required to be in prison for 7 years with a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 3 months in prison.
Just as it is known, the Preman Pension artist, stumbled on a drug case, the Cimahi Police Narcotics Unit managed to arrest Nio Juanda, who played the character Boris in the soap opera Preman Pensiun as a narcotics dealer.
On September 20, 2021, Boris was arrested by the police at a guest house in the Lembang area, West Bandung Regency (KBB).
When raided by officers, Boris was found to be using narcotics of methamphetamine and marijuana.
From Boris’ hands, the police secured a number of evidences, including a roll of used marijuana, a clear plastic clip package containing 1 gram of methamphetamine, a methamphetamine suction device, and various other pieces of evidence.
