The rapper arrives for first place in the Billboard Hot 100 with his return single “GOOBA”. But he claims that the powers that be are manipulating the graphics to prevent him from getting first place, which he describes as “completely illegal”.
While he was homebound in an undisclosed location, Tekashi posted a video explaining the situation to his 20 million followers on Instagram. According to Tekashi, Billboard is “paid for # 1” and “manipulates the graphics”.
“I want the whole world to see it,” he said, pointing to an email on his iPhone that plans graphics for next week, “GOOBA” to debut second behind Doja Cat and “ Say So ”by Nicki Minaj.
Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s charity duo “Stuck With U” was listed at number 5. But 6ix9ine alleges that 60,000 units were added “completely out of nowhere”, increasing the song to number 1 due of a signed CD promotion.
6ix9ine calls the fault on the pack and says that Billboard “plays favorites” in order to bring “Stuck With You” to number 1.
He claims that “GOOBA” has over 200 million streams, more than “every artist who released a song this week”. Because of the additional units, he says that Universal and Sony have requested an audit of the numbers.
“Literally, you are manipulating graphics now,” he said. “How can a hard-working artist become # 1?”
“GOOBA” was released on May 8 and set a YouTube record with 43 million views in the first 24 hours, beating Eminem’s “Killshot” video. He reportedly reported about $ 2 million on the single’s success in less than a week, including sales of derivatives.
