Actor Lee Jang-woo brought laughter and emotion at the same time by sharing the secret story of his past participation in the swimming event at ‘Idol Athletics Championships’. From his days as a handsome guy weighing 67 kg to his current weight of over 100 kg, he showed off his unexpected charm and captured the attention of viewers by revealing his true character as a ‘hard worker’ who goes beyond dieting.
In the MBC entertainment program ‘The Captain’s Side Dish’ that aired on the 17th, Lee Jang-woo, SHINee’s Minho and Key, and announcer Kim Dae-ho had a pride battle over persimmon dessert. In addition to the hilarious episode that occurred while on the move, Lee Jang-woo once again made people laugh by revealing the story of his participation in the 2011 ‘ISAC’ swimming competition.
Delightful Tiki Taka, a special relationship with Minho
Lee Jang-woo and SHINee members’ tiki-taka performance in the car on the way to the persimmon field was one of the highlights of the broadcast. Jangwoo Lee said, “I’m hungry. “I’m so hungry every morning,” he said, causing laughter. Minho lightly mentioned his weight and joked, “It feels like the car is pulling to the right.” Lee Jang-woo, who responded to Minho’s criticism with laughter, recalled the memories of competing against Minho in the past at ‘ISAC’.

He said, “Once upon a time, I participated in the ‘Idol Athletics Championships’ swimming contest. “I’m an actor and I was excited about the challenge,” he said, revealing the secret behind his participation. In the following data screen, the 67 kg slim body and handsome visuals clearly showed Lee Jang-woo’s past prime. Lee Jang-woo finished in third place and won a bronze medal, but looking at Minho, who took first place, he said, “I just got there and there was Minho in front of me. “Their skills were amazing,” he vividly recalled the swimming competition.
The ultimate diet that survives with just one rat bag
Lee Jang-woo then revealed the story behind his past diet. As he recently mentioned on MBC’s ‘I Live Alone’, he recalled a time in the past when he dieted by surviving on just one rat a day. “I couldn’t drink, so I got really nauseous. “I survived by melting and eating one meal a day,” he said, surprising the cast.

However, despite these efforts, he confessed, “I was slim in my 20s, but I went through the yo-yo phenomenon and now I weigh over 100kg,” showing a surprising charm. SHINee’s Key envied Minho by saying, “Minho doesn’t naturally gain weight,” but Lee Jang-woo made people laugh by joking, “I find it uncomfortable to say, ‘He doesn’t naturally gain weight.'”
Minho was considerate of Lee Jang-woo by saying, “Actually, it’s not easy to gain weight,” and Kim Dae-ho said, “Jang-woo also had a hard time gaining weight,” causing laughter. Lee Jang-woo ended the mood cheerfully by joking, “I really spent a lot of money.”
