Former French President Francois Hollande married 50-year-old actress Julie Gaye, whom he had dated since 2014. reportingt France 24. The mayor of Tulle, Bernard Combs, first told reporters about the wedding of the politician, and in the media appeared photo of a couple, in which the groom in a suit and his bride in a white dress climb the stairs of the local town hall.

According to the mayor’s office of the central region of Correse, they tied the knot “in a private ceremony.”

Who was present at the wedding, little is known. There is information that among the guests was the French singer Benjamin Biolet, who worked with Gaye on the film in 2021.

Before starting to date Gaye, Hollande had an affair with the journalist Valerie Trierweiler, who was the de facto first lady at the time, as French president.

In January 2014 French Closer magazine published sensational photos of Hollande, who arrived on a date with Gaye on a scooter to an apartment near his official residence in the heart of Paris. The images, accompanied by a story replete with obscene details about the bodyguards sent in the morning to buy croissants for the couple, dealt a serious blow to Hollande’s credibility. Later Trierweiler, with whom Hollande broke up after a scandalwrote a best-selling memoir in which she recounted how she attempted suicide in the presidential bedroom due to media revelations.

Hollande’s marriage to Gaye is Hollande’s first, but he has four children from his relationship with former partner Segolene Royal, an ex-rival in the Socialist Party.

Gaye has two sons with her ex-husband, Argentine screenwriter and producer Santiago Amigorena, whom she divorced in 2006.

The woman, who celebrated her 50th birthday the day before her wedding, remained reserved throughout the latter part of Hollande’s difficult tenure.

The couple agreed to the first joint photo shoot only in 2018, when Hollande left his post with record low ratings. In a rare interview that same year, she described Hollande’s time as a period of “crazy violence” that included a series of jihadist attacks that claimed hundreds of lives.

“I tried to energize the president, take care of him, be there and listen,” she told the Journal du Dimanche newspaper.

“Since I met him, I have wings. I love his way of thinking, his lifestyle, his humor,” added the star of the Netflix drama The Perfect Mother, who is an increasingly influential film producer.
