Citizens and visitors only experience 650 years of Krefeld once, and besides all the problems the city has, there are also some outstanding things to point out and visit from the exciting history. These included, among others, the weaving hall in the silk culture house at Luisenstraße 15 in the heart of the city as the authentic place where silk is still processed today. And the sewage treatment plant as an experimental building in which architecture and technology can still be sensationally experienced today would be completely unthinkable without the artistic and monetary wealth of the city of Krefeld which was once created by the processing of silk, Becker said.
