630 new corona cases, largest increase since April | Inland

194 new cases have been reported in the Amsterdam-Amstelland region, the highest number since the start of the corona outbreak. 177 of these were cases in Amsterdam itself. In Rotterdam-Rijnmond, 130 new cases were added, less than the 153 on Sunday. Haaglanden recorded 72 new corona cases, Central and West Brabant 41 and Utrecht 33.

A notable climber is Friesland. There, 14 new patients were registered between Sunday morning and Monday morning, the highest number since the beginning of May. After an outdoor party in Dokkum, the corona virus was diagnosed in at least eighteen young people.

Also increase in hospitals

Hospitals are currently treating 128 patients with the coronavirus. That is the highest number since July 2. According to chairman Ernst Kuipers of the National Network Acute Care, the increase “still fits within the bandwidth of the past few days.”

The number of patients in intensive care fell from 31 to 29. But there are now 99 corona patients in the nursing wards. That is twelve people more than on Sunday and it is the highest number since the beginning of July.

There are also 571 people in intensive care with other conditions, 26 more than on Sunday. In total, IC departments now treat 600 people. Since the beginning of July, the number of patients in intensive care has fluctuated around that level.
