62-Year-Old Ukrainian Dies After Self-Immolation Outside Ukrainian Consulate in Poland

A 62-year-old Ukrainian who set himself on fire last week near the Ukrainian consulate in Krakow, Poland, died from his burns.

The man’s condition was critical from the very beginning.

As reported, 62-year-old man (born 1960) committed self-arson in line at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Krakow on the morning of April 13th. Eyewitnesses said that he shouted calls in Ukrainian to return to his homeland and defend the country from the Russians.

In connection with the incident, the Krakow District Prosecutor’s Office opened proceedings. Investigators will investigate whether there was a risk to the life or health of several people who were in line to enter the building.
