60th Anniversary Charity Gala: A Night of Nostalgia, Generosity, and Celebration

Last night, the cradle of the Wolf Burners sang again.

60 years, to the day, separated the club’s first official match from this first charity gala.

For the occasion, the counters were back in service to welcome the 230 guests. Our players, armed this time with umbrellas and not sticks, are busy at the entrance to protect the guests from the rain.

The swinging entrance doors let out the sound of the interior ambiance and the very particular echo produced by this wooden arch.

The crowd rushes again to the entrance and one can easily imagine the atmosphere of the big evenings.

Once through the door, jazz music sounds and you can encounter the ghosts of the past. The locker rooms have been reopened and a retrospective displayed in the corridors. We try to recognize former players, we tell each other our memories of victories and the celebrations that continue long after.

We mingle with the people who follow Willy Libert, guide to the places for this evening. Nostalgic anecdotes abound and are not lacking. With luck, we come across Sacha Treille at the bend of a corridor who tells us with emotion, that he finds everything, smaller than before. Perhaps the fault of his 1.95 meter height?

Back in the room, we take a look at the old press booth. At the same time, a familiar voice is heard. It is that of Julien Langlet, emblematic commentator of France Bleu, who accompanied our matches for a long time, at the time when fanseat did not yet exist.

We are invited to sit down at the table. When we arrive, a player is already seated. Introductions are made quickly, some already know each other, others not. Everyone is happy to be there. We notice everyone’s gift: a collector’s puck from the event.

The meal begins, accompanied by the orchestra. Julien Langlet invites former players on stage to talk about their feelings and share some memories. The emotion is palpable.

60 years that the club has been growing, building and innovating.

Just before the main course, the ambitions of the Brûleurs de Loups endowment fund were not hidden: continue to prosper and propose new projects. To do this, you have to play the bidding game and think that each euro invested will have a lasting and positive impact.

The sale starts with the Pink October top scorer collector’s jersey, a timid start and then everything gets carried away! It sold for €700. The lots keep coming and the prices are soaring. The jersey, generously offered by Olivier Giroud, unleashes passions and will be acquired for the sum of €3000 ! We thought we had the biggest prize of the evening there. This was without counting on the helmet of our doorman, Raphaël Garnier, which will be sold for the same sum: €3,000!

The auctions raised no less than €17,700. An incredible amount to support the endowment fund.

All of a sudden, someone says “here, here, it’s Grenoble!” and dessert arrives in a shower of sparkles. A sponge cake topped with Chartreuse-blueberry cream in the shape of a 60.

The evening was punctuated by moments of emotion, joy, euphoria and a lot of generosity.

A chain of benevolence which is definitely not ready to give way.

If this first charity gala was successful, it is thanks to the alliance of several people without whom, all this would not have been possible. A big thank you to :

• All the guests for their generosity.

• The city of Grenoble for entrusting us with the keys to this emblematic place.

• Julien Langlet for hosting this evening and, through his voice, reminding us of the Clémenceau years and the significant moments of our club.

• Former players and the memories that accompanied them: Jean-Claude Laplassotte, Jean Leblond, Benoît Bachelet, Julien Baylac.

• We would also like to warmly thank: Olivier Giroud, Alexandre Texier, GF 38, Martin and Simon Fourcade for the lots they offered us for our auctions.

• Master Joseph Di Girolamo, Laurent Medina and Mythiques Event for their intervention during the auction.

• The DECLERCK caterer.

• The Sassenage vats.

• Our speaker Léo Lombardo.

• Our photographers Fabien and Julien.

• The entire staff of Brûleurs de Loups
