As the chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health, Dilyara Kaidarova, said, breast cancer is in the first place among women in Kazakhstan, and breast cancer is in the second place. “Over the eight months of 2024, 305 women died from breast cancer in Kazakhstan. Unfortunately, 15% of cases are detected at a late stage,” said Dilyara Kaidarova at a press conference at the SCS.
She noted that breast cancer treatment at the first stage costs from 500 thousand to 2 million tenge. The cost of fighting cancer at the third and fourth stage reaches 30 million tenge.
The head of the department for the control of vaccine-preventable diseases at the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurshay Azimbaeva, said that there are almost 350 thousand doses of the American vaccine “Gardasil” against HPV on. purchased this year. The first batch of 173 thousand doses has already arrived to doctors. 9.7 billion tenge was allocated from the budget for the purchase of the vaccine.
The head of the department at the National Center for the Knowledge of Medicines and Medical Devices, Malik Abdrakhmanov, confirmed that the vaccine is safe and meets the highest international standards.
“Vaccine side effects are rare; usually there is an emotional reaction, usually fainting. There are also allergic reactions, but they are very rare,” he said.
Vaccinations for girls are carried out in the school’s medical offices after obtaining informed consent from parents or legal representatives. At the request of parents, vaccination can also be done in clinics at the connection point.
It was previously reported that the HPV vaccine campaign began in Astana. It is expected that 13 thousand 11-year-old girls will receive the vaccine.
