60 years ago, the first Sofitel hotel opened in Strasbourg: a Brussels address invites Alsace for this anniversary

The Brussels address could not miss the opportunity to salute this event. The annual organization of “wine days”, which honor a wine-growing region, obviously took the opportunity to attract a fine house and put its wines on the menu. Maison Arthur Metz, based in Marlenheim, is celebrating its 120th anniversary.

Until October 31, in addition to the traditional menu offered by the restaurant “The 1040”, chef Gabriele Petrucci has added two Alsatian dishes and a dessert that you can pair with a Réserve de l’Abbaye crémant and a Classic Riesling.

Having tasted them, we can tell you that the Alsatian taste is there. Particularly in the boxes of buckwheat pancakes stuffed with Munster cheese. The latter clearly having a say.

As a main course, Alsatian sauerkraut, famous and celebrated throughout the world, has been slightly revisited by the chef with Italian accents but with this incomparable flavor. For dessert, charlottine with pears and chestnuts.

As the culmination of this very European tribute between Brussels and Strasbourg, Gabrielle Petrucci, the resident chef, and Matthieu Klein, chef of the Sofitel restaurant in Strasbourg Grand île, are creating a unique four-handed dinner on Friday October 18 and Saturday October 19 at Sofitel Europe Brussels.

On the menu (69 euros without wine): trout, riewele or pike perch and Vacherin.

Sixty years is worth celebrating.
