Shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday, a patrol car from the Winterthur city police stopped a car with obviously frozen windows on Frauenfelderstrasse.

A closer inspection showed that the windshield was almost completely frozen. The driver, a 60-year-old ordinary Macedonian, was charged with serious traffic violations.

Car windows must be free of ice and snow

Note: the municipal police underline once again that it is not only forbidden, but also extremely dangerous to drive with frozen windows.

The windscreen and the two front side windows must be unobstructed and allow an unobstructed view.

Also, the car roof, lights, side mirrors and turn signals must be cleared of snow and ice. Falling snow or ice can hinder or endanger other road users.
