60 percent of patients in the UGD Kepri Hospital complain of heart attacks

Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) – A cardiac vascular specialist at Raja Ahmad Thabib Hospital (RAT) Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands (Kepri) revealed that 60 to 70 percent of patients seeking treatment at the hospital’s emergency room are patients with complaints of heart attacks.

“My experience in both the poly and the ER, especially in this hospital (RSUP RAT), 60-70 percent of those who come are heart attacks,” Andrew said in Tanjungpinang, Sunday.

Heart disease patients, said Andrew, generally suffer from coronary heart disease caused by smoking, diabetes and high blood pressure.

According to him, currently there is also a change in the age trend of people with heart disease.

“In the past, at the age of 40 to 50, the fire is not now. I have encountered patients at a very young age, 30 years old and the current trend is under the age of 40,” he said.

The increase in heart disease at a young age is predominantly due to smoking.

Andrew gave some tips to avoid heart disease, make a healthy heart in a healthy way by maintaining a nutritional balance by paying attention to diet, getting rid of cigarettes, dealing with stress, monitoring blood pressure, exercising regularly.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he advised people with heart disease to routinely control and apply health protocols.

“Heart disease will be a very strong contributing factor when exposed to COVID-19,” he said. *
