60 cents compensation per liter of fuel, but only for drivers with an income of up to BGN 1,000, and payment is made with vouchers. This support option is being considered by the caretaker government, it became clear from the words of the Minister of Economy Nikola Stoyanov in Kardzhali.
However, he admitted that it would be difficult to get this compensation measure into effect before March 1. The decision of the deputies to compensate through vouchers complicated the situation. It was necessary to conduct a public procurement to determine who would print and distribute them. That’s why they were looking for options on how this could be done faster, because the time to help people was now in the winter, not in April or May, explained Nikola Stoyanov.
“This time there is money. The main part of them are from the contributions of “Lukoil” as an advance tax and from excess profit tax”, said the minister. The question was technical – to work out measures in compliance with the legislation, so that they could start acting. The anti-crisis measure to help individuals was introduced on July 9, 2022. The compensation of 25 cents per liter of gasoline, diesel, propane butane and methane provided by the state was suspended on December 31 last year.
According to the Minister of Economy, the discussion of a new option for compensation started after the New Year. Calculations showed that if the support was intended for people with incomes up to BGN 1,000, its amount could be around 60 cents per liter.
Stoyanov came to Kardzhali to inaugurate a new French investment worth BGN 15 million. This is the third expansion of the Serta Bulgaria plant in a row, which will create 100 new jobs.
