The Region of Murcia registered 60 new covid infections yesterday, which is 22 less than the previous day in a day in which seven people have died from this disease, as reported by the epidemiology service.
They are 6 men and a woman of 71, 78, 86, 81, 95, 67 and 82 years; three from Murcia, two from Cartagena and the rest from Cieza and Alguazas.
Of the 60 new cases, 8 correspond to Torre Pacheco, 7 to Librilla, 6 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 6 to Cieza, 5 to Cartagena and 5 to Lorca, 4 to Murcia and 4 to San Pedro del Pinatar.
Four patients have been discharged in home isolation and two in hospital, of which one was in the ICU, where there are currently a total of 58 people admitted receiving intensive covid care.
The positivity rate is 2.2 percent with 2,713 PCR tests performed and 170 antibody tests.
The Minister of Health, Juan José Pedreño, at the meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council, said that it is necessary to unify a common position for the entire national territory that provides security to society in general.
The Region of Murcia, according to sources from the Ministry, has positioned itself in the Council in favor of measures such as 4 people for indoor or outdoor meetings, or the curfew at 10 pm.
Pedreño has asked the Ministry of Health to coordinate a special device capable of ensuring security and compliance with measures for the San José holiday weekend and, above all, for Easter.
Therefore, we ask that air and port controls be strengthened for this measure to take effect, especially if we take into account that in neighboring countries the incidence rates are much higher than ours.
He has also reiterated the request to expedite the shipment of vaccines that allows us to advance a massive immunization to the population, in order to progress in the age groups established in the Vaccination Strategy, and the guarantee of their delivery that avoids delays or alterations in the programming that the different Communities are doing.
He has also insisted once again on the need to include within the group of teachers, the University teaching staff, currently excluded, especially for dealing with the group with more social interaction, and a vector for greater contagiousness.
