There’s no way around it (sometimes literally): buttocks! On this Sunday we will treat you to six butt facts that you probably didn’t know yet.
1. Strength muscle group. Did you know that your glutes carry your entire body weight? That makes them the strongest in your entire body.
2. Bigger than men. Have you ever noticed that many men have almost no buttocks? Women’s buttocks are bigger than men’s buttocks because the estrogen in your body tells the fat to go to the buttocks. In men, fat is sent to another place, for example the lower abdomen.
3. Skin cancer. Angela J Lamb, a dermatology professor at the Icahn School of Medicine in Mount Sinai, says you can get skin cancer in the weirdest places. So also on your buttocks.
4. Pygophilia. This word means to get excited about someone’s buttocks. Fun fact to share with your lover, friends and colleagues.
5. The bigger, the better. The bigger your butt is, the smarter you are. According to a study by the University of Oxford, women with bigger buttocks are more intelligent. The reason? Women with big buttocks have a higher dose of omega 3 fats in the body, which stimulates brain development.
6. And healthy too. The bigger your buttocks are, the less likely you are to develop cardiovascular disease. At least, that’s what the same study from the University of Oxford shows. Women with large buttocks are also less likely to develop diabetes.
