6 terrorist suspects arrested in West Java, allegedly JAD network and related to Astanaanyar bomb

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A total of six suspects terrorist securing in West Java area (West Java) after suicide bombing at police headquarters in Astanaanyar, Bandung on Wednesday (7/12/2022).

Public Information Bureau Chief (Karo Penmas) of National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan’s Public Relations Division said the six people were from Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) Network.

“This network is JAD,” Ramadhan told reporters on Wednesday (12/21/2022).

According to him, three of the six people had the status of suspects and were arrested. They have the initials YD, AH and AS.

So, three other suspects, namely DP, EJD and AM are still under investigation.

Ramadhan said the six arrested terrorists were linked to the suicide bombing at the police headquarters in Astanaanyar.

“So the network is JAD and it is related to the Astanaanyar incident,” he said.

Meanwhile, the head of the operations assistance section (Kabagops) Posting 88 Counter Terrorism Police Commissioner Aswin Siregar has revealed the role of the six people.

Aswin said he knew about and witnessed the suicide bombing at the Astanaanyar police headquarters.

“His role was to help, discover, encourage perpetrators interested in carrying out attacks or suicide bombings on the Astana Anyar police,” he said.

The suicide bombing took place at the police headquarters in Astanaanyar, Bandung on Wednesday (7/12/2022) at 08.20 WIB.

This incident started when the suicide bomber entered the Astanaanyar police headquarters.

The suicide bomber who managed to break through the guard brandished a sharp weapon. Shortly thereafter, an explosion occurred.

As a result, one police officer died and several others were injured.

The suicide bomber of the Astanaanyar police headquarters was Agus Sujatno.

Previously, Agus had been in prison in Nusakambangan for 4 years due to a terrorism case.
