1. It’s as fast as the most expensive iPhone 11 Pro Max
Who wants the best iPhone should buy the most expensive? Not if you look at raw processor power. The iPhone SE 2 has the same A13 Bionic processor that you already know from the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. We probably don’t need to tell you anymore that this is the currently fastest processor in a smartphone – until Apple presents the successor A14 in September. He even beats the in some benchmarks 16-inch MacBook Pro from above 3000 euros!
2. Touch ID is better than Face ID
Okay okay, maybe this is a matter of taste. But we still find Touch ID a bit more practical than Face ID. And let the SE have the same wide-angle lens with 12 megapixel as its more expensive brothers. You even get portrait mode with all the different modes, thanks to the A13 processor’s Neural Engine. It can use your artificial intelligence to measure your photos in depth and blur the background. That also works for the old FaceTime HD front camera. Only minor limitation: Portrait mode, unlike with multiple camera models, only works when you photograph a face. So photos of your pet or dinner with a blurred background will not work. And another feature we’ll miss on the iPhone SE is the night mode for photos. If you don’t need those two, the SE’s camera is just as good as the more expensive iPhones.
6. The iPhone SE is really very cheap
You don’t often read the words “Apple” and “cheap” in one sentence. And yet the iPhone SE is really true. Apple’s new iPhone SE is cheap. 489 euros for the basic variant with 64 GB, only 50 euros extra for 128 GB. Madness, especially when you consider that you get largely the same hardware as with the much more expensive iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. For the price of an iPhone 11 Pro Max with extra storage you can buy three (!) IPhone SE and you still have money for covers. And then you wonder: is that new design, Face ID and the better camera really worth that extra cost?
