A terrifying traffic accident occurred on the TEM Highway. Many vehicles, including the earthmoving truck, were involved in the accident. The catastrophic accident took place on the TEM Highway in Silivri, in the direction of Edirne. Medical team and firefighters were dispatched to the area. The road was closed to traffic due to the accident. As a result of the accident, 6 people died and 3 people were injured.
EXPLANATION FROM THE GOVERNMENT REGARDING THE ACCIDENT
In the statement made by the Istanbul Governor’s Office, “A TIR, which lost its driving control and passed to the opposite lane, collided with 2 private vehicles on the TEM Highway, in the Silivri Gazitepe Mahallesi area of Istanbul, at around 15:30 today. Unfortunately, 6 of our citizens lost their lives and 3 of our citizens were injured in the accident. The injured are being treated at the hospital. Gendarmerie, fire brigade, health and AFAD teams were immediately dispatched to the accident scene, and traffic in both directions is provided from a single lane. We wish God’s mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the accident, and a speedy recovery to the injured. It is announced to the public with respect.” statements were included.
