Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia WhatsApp has been steadily rolling out a number of new features over the past few years. This feature supports almost all aspects of the platform, from sending messages to related video call features.

Unfortunately, some features are already available on other platforms and are only available on WhatsApp. Share Screen, for example, was already known on video conferencing platforms such as zoom.

Apart from that, the edit chat feature was also available on Telegram long before it was available on WhatsApp. How to use it is also almost the same.

For more information, here is a summary of the 6 new features provided by WhatsApp:

1. Edit Chat

In the middle of this year, WhatsApp finally provides an edit chat service on its platform. Messages can be changed within 15 minutes of being sent.

To use it, select the message you want to edit. Press and hold the message and click edit from the menu that appears. Then enter a new word or sentence that you want to replace the old message. After that, send back the edits.

2. Keep In Chat

Some time ago, WhatsApp launched the Disappearing Messages feature. That is, messages can disappear automatically within a certain period of time.

Now, WhatsApp added the Keep in Chat feature. So users can mark messages sent with Disappearing Messages, so chats can be read even if they have been deleted. How to use it, press the message and then click the Bookmark icon.

3. HD Quality Photos

The problem that arose before was that WhatsApp photos were always compressed and drained the quality until they became blurry. Finally, the Meta subsidiary released a feature to keep photos sent in the highest quality, aka HD.

So when sending photos, users can choose to send them in standard and HD quality. If you choose the last mode, it will keep the photo quality high.

4. Share Screen

This feature has the same concept as the Share Screen that we used to know via Zoom. So users who are in the middle of a video call can display screen sharing.

The way to use it is to start a video call, then click the Share Screen icon and press start now or start now. You can open documents or sites to certain applications during a call.

5. One Account Two HP

Not long ago, WhatsApp also released a Companion mode which allows one account to be used on the same two cellphones without having to exit or log out first. Previously, one account could only be used on one cellphone.

With this mode, users can access archived chats on any connected device. Companion Mode can also connect two Android or Android cellphones with an iPhone.

6. Chat Lock

Finally, WhatsApp launched a feature to hide certain chats in a Chat Lock folder. The folder can only be opened with the user’s fingerprint or face lock.

To use, select Chat Lock on the group or individual whose chat you want to lock. After that select the key to open the folder. Meanwhile, to enter the folder, scan your fingerprint or face and press the chat you want to view or send a message.
